Siklish has been developed by the Annapurna Conservation Project as a model village, it is an integral part of their eco trekking project that seeks to spread awareness for both tourists and locals of the need to preserve the delicate environment of the area. Siklish is a large Gurung village north of Pokhara, it is recognized as an extremely well preserved example of typical Gurung life. Although close to the more well worn trails, it remains fairly unexplored with few facilities available for overnight stays. Above the village is Rishing Danada which provides some fantastic views of the Annapurna Himal. Siklis is likely to appeal to people who do not want strenuous trekking but are perhaps more interested in culture.
