Manang to Tilicho Lake camping lodge Trek: 21 days

Situated in the Annapurna range of the Central Nepal Himalaya, Tilicho Tal ( lake) at 4,919mtr. is one of the highest for its size in the world. It stretches for 4km and is around 1km wide ,situated at the foot of Tilocho peak 7,134 mtrs..

This Trans-Himalayan adventure begins with a spectacular flight from Kathmandu or Pokhara up the Marsyangdi valley to the airstrip at Hongde, in the Manang district. We soon leave the lodges on the main trail and head up toward Tilicho Tal. These high reaches of the Nepal Himal are the habitat of the Himalayan tahr (mountain goat) and the elusive snow leopard. We have designed two routes, both are challenging and present some fine high altitude trekking.
 
 
This itineray allows us to visit the temple at Muktinath a holy pilgrimage site sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims alike. The trip ends in Jomsom with an early morning flight to Pokhara.

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu / transfer to hotel / overnight.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu / overnight.
Day 03: Flight to Manang from Kathmandu or fly to Pokhara (dependent on flight availability) next day fly to Manang / overnight.
Day 04: Khanshar / overnight.
Day 05: Tilicho Base Camp / overnight.
Day 06: Rest day at Tilicho Base camp / overnight.
Day 07: Walk to Tilicho Lake / overnight.
Day 08: Trek back to Khansar / overnight.
Day 09: Stay in Yak Kharka / overnight.
Day 10: Trek to Thorong Phedi / overnight.
Day 11: Cross Thorang La pass / trek down to Muktinath / overnight.
Day 12: Trek down to Jomsom / overnight.
Day 13: Trek to Marpha (famous for apple brandy and dried apple) / back to Jomsom / overnight.
Day 14: Flight to Pokhara (17 minutes) / transfer hotel / overnight.
Day 15: Pokhara at leisure.
Day16: Fly or drive Kathmandu / transfer hotel.
Day 17: Tour ends.
