Dolpo camping Trek: (Phoksundo Lake) Itinerary.
Dolpo was once an ancient Tibetan Kingdom, It is located in the northeast part of Nepal,only opened for trekkers in 1991.The Himalayan range can be seen in all its
splendor, Phoksundo Lake (a famous lake of the region ) and Ringmo village are set within a beautiful scenic setting. Dolpo is located in the rain shadow which means it is unaffected by the monsoon season during the summer , making it a good time to
visit. During the summer flora and fauna are at their best, orchids, edelweiss, campanulas and forget-me-nots provide a spectrum of colour.
The region contains a number of high passes with
sweeping vistas in an area that is enriched by
traditional Tibetan heritage. There are a number of
treks in the Dolpo region ranging from a few days to
over thirty days.

Lower Dolpo camping Trek: 22 days Itinerary 16 days camping
Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu / transfer to hotel / overnight.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu / overnight.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Nepalganj by bus ( 14 hrs ) or flight / overnight.
Day 04: Nepalganj to Juphal / flight / start trek to Dunai / camp overnight.
Day 05: Dunai to Ankhe / camp overnight.
Day 06: Ankhe to Somdu / camp overnight.
Day 07: Somdu to Phoksundo / camp overnight.
Day 08: Phoksundo to Sallaghari / camp overnight.
Day 09: Sallaghari to Yak Kharka / camp overnight.
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Shey Gompa / camp overnight.
Day 11: Shey Gompa to Saldang / camp overnight.
Day 12: Saldang to Yak Kharka / camp overnight.
Day 13: Yak Kharka to Thaksema / camp overnight.
Day 14: Thaksema to Dhotarap / camp overnight.
Day 15: Dhotarap to Riverside / camp overnight.
Day 16: Riverside to Odar / camp overnight.
Day 17: Odar to Eklebhatti / camp overnight.
Day 18: Eklebhatti to Dunai / camp overnight.
Day 19: Dunai to Juphal / camp overnight.
Day 20: Juphal to Nepalganj / flight / transfer to hotel / overnight.
Day 21: From Nepalganj / drive (14 hours) or fly (45 minutes) to Kathmandu / overnight.
