Langtang- Helambu Trek
 
Langtang & Helambu lodge Trek featuring the Sacred lakes of Gossainkunda:

15 days Itinerary 13 days trek.

This trek takes you up through the beautiful Langtang valley to the base of the high Himalaya before trekking back for a couple of days.After leaving the valley the trail continues on to the Sacred lakes of Gosainkunda (famous religious site for both Hindus and Buddhists).The lauribinayak pass at 4609 mtrs is crossed the next day before four splendid days trekking through the beautiful Helambu region. The trek finishes not far from Kathmandu at Sundarijal , one hours drive from Kathmandu.
 

Itinerary for Langtang Helambu trekking
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu / transfer to hotel / overnight.
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu / overnight.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi / overnight.
Day 04: Sayabru Bensi / Lama Hotel 2470m / overnight.
Day 05: Lama hotel / Langtang village / overnight.
Day 06: Langtang village / Kyanjin 4060m / overnight.
Day 07: Rest day some side treks / small climbing peaks / glacier exploration.
Day 08: Kyanjin / Lama hotel / overnight.
Day 09: Lama Hotel / Thulo Saybru / Trek down to the river / cross river trek up through rhododendron and bamboo forest before the trek opens out / continue to ascend to Thulo Saybru (long day) / overnight
Day10: Thulo Sayabru / Sing Gompa / commence with two hours up to reach good mountain view point / follow just below the ridge through a very ancient forest and on to Sing Gompa / overnight.
Day11: Sing Ghompa / Sacred lakes Gossainkunda / trek up for an hour or so the trail then flattens / some some good views of Mt Langtang lirung looking back up the valley can be had. Scenary changes more to scrub grass and shingle/ moraine trek on to the lakes at Gossainkunda / overnight.
Day 12: Gossainkunda / Ghopte cave / soon after leaving the lakes traverse the Lauribinayak pass before a steep descent to the small settlement of Lauribinayak / continue after lunch with a series of small assents and desents to reach Gopte cave / overnight.
Day 13: Ghopte Cave / Kutumsang / trek up to Thare pati / fine views on a clear day / trek on mainly descending via Manggengoth to reach the small settlement of Kutumsang / overnight.
Day 14: Kutumsang / Chissapani / the day is spent trekking through a helambu villages with a series of assents and descents the day is quite long and routes through a variety of terrain including a climb through a splendid forest to reach Chissopani / overnight.
Day 15: Chissapani / Sundarijal / Kathmandu / trek gradually up through a wood then descend / the trek becomes more inhabited from here / reach some stone steps / trek down to the water station just above Sundarijal / trek on down for a few minutes to reach the small settlement. From here a bus is waiting to take you to your hotel in Kathmandu / overnight.
Day 16: Tour ends .
